Digital Learning I
"ANYONE CAN BE A DIGITAL CITIZEN, IT'S YOUR CHOICE TO BE A RESPONSIBLE ONE" -VENSPIRED
Let’s explore innovative ways to reinvent our daily routine with technology. We celebrate student originality with brilliant creation apps. We empower students with safe communication tools they should learn and trust. Students will collaborate with groups globally and locally through Google Drive and Google Classroom. Digital citizenship will be our primary focus and the students will learn how to be responsible, respectful online citizens.
As they begin to build out their digital identity, we discuss how this translates to a permanent mark and the necessity to create a positive footprint.
Keyboarding is a critical skill and daily practice will be a focus throughout the course.
Digital Learning II
"It's not about what teachers cover, it's about what students discover!" -unknown
Now that the building blocks for Digital Learning are in place, our Digital Learning II course focuses on solving real world problems through the use of technology. Students will tackle a range of problems that they face related to both their local environment and as a broader community. We introduce Project Based Learning and The Design Process in addressing a spectrum of concerns. These range from improving our schools locker security, to working with local childcare providers to address engagement in toddlers, to the complexity of widespread bullying. Students in Digital Learning II will present their projects to a group of panelists at the completion of our course.
